The University of Bologna is built on a multi-campus structure. That structure aims to improve the quality of life and activities of its university community. It also lets the university support and promote learning and stable research activity throughout its region. The university has four campuses: the Cesena Campus, the Forlì Campus, the Ravenna Campus, and the Rimini Campus. Various departments belonging to faculties within the university are spread across these four campuses. Each campus has its own libraries, its own sports centers, and its own research and education centers. You can travel between campuses using the university's own shuttle vehicles or public transportation. That said, the large majority of the university's students prefer to use bicycles for transportation. Bicycle use is extremely common at the University of Bologna, and the university produces its own bicycles under its own brand, AlmaBike.
The University of Bologna has four separate campuses and one of the largest student populations among universities in Italy. The university has about 100 libraries spread across those four campuses.
