TOEFL

Published:

TOEFL iBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language, Internet-Based Test) is administered by ETS (Educational Testing Service) and measures English proficiency. Accepted by over 12,500 universities in 160+ countries; it is the most commonly requested test in the US and Canada.

The exam is scored on a 0-120 scale; each of the four sections receives 0-30 points. The 2023 reform reduced the test duration to 2 hours (previously 3 hours). It is fully computer-delivered; all sections including Speaking are digitally recorded.

Typical targets for Turkish students: US undergraduate 80-90, US postgraduate 90-100, Ivy League/MIT/Stanford 100-110+. Results are usually available online within 4-8 days.
