GRE

GRE (Graduate Record Examinations), administered by ETS, is the most widely accepted test for graduate and doctoral admissions. It measures general aptitude (Verbal, Quantitative, Analytical Writing). Accepted by 1,300+ US universities + 1,000+ institutions in 90+ countries.

The 2023 reform shortened the test to 1 hour 58 minutes (from 3h 45m). Three main sections: Analytical Writing (1 essay), Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning.

Scoring: Verbal 130-170, Quant 130-170 (1-point increments), AW 0-6 (0.5 increments). Used for MBA, engineering, social sciences, humanities. Many MBA programs accept GRE in place of GMAT.
