Our Data Methodology

How we collect + verify data

Dream Uni collects data on 500+ universities, 300+ high schools and 20+ scholarships from official government bodies, university consortiums and the educational institutions' own websites. All data is verified by our Education Team manually at least once every 90 days, and on every page the "Last updated + Source + Verified by" information is shown transparently.

Process

4-stage data verification process

1

Collection

Official government higher education data systems, university consortiums and the education/exam institutions' own websites. Our team reads each data point directly from the official source, manually.

2

Verification

Cross-source review by the Education Team. Confirmation from at least 2 independent official sources is required (e.g. an official government data system + the university's official site).

3

Publishing

Content goes through editorial approval, then is published; a 'Last updated + Source + Verifying team' badge is added next to each data point.

4

Freshness Cycle

Content older than 90 days falls into our team's 're-verify' queue. At the start of the season (September-October), all critical data (acceptance rate, tuition, application date) goes through a full manual review.

Data usage + limitations

  • The data is for informational purposes; before applying it must always be confirmed on the institution's official site.
  • Acceptance rate + tuition information is updated annually; it may change during the season.
  • The data does not reflect institutions' own admission decisions; in the application process the final say always rests with the institution. Dream Uni's role is to match the student's profile with the most suitable programs.
  • If you spot incorrect data, report it via the contact page; it is reviewed within 48 hours.
FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How often does Dream Uni update its data?

University, high school, scholarship and exam data is manually re-verified by the Dream Uni Education Team at least once every 90 days. Critical data (acceptance rate, tuition, application date) also goes through a full manual review at the start of each application season (September-October). On every page, the 'Last updated + Source + Verified by' information is shown transparently.

Which sources do you pull data from?

We reference only official government higher education data systems, university consortiums, official exam/accreditation bodies and the educational institutions' own websites. Every data point is confirmed from at least two independent official sources, and on every page that record's specific source + last verification date is shown transparently. We do not use paid third-party data vendors.

Who collects + verifies the data?

All data collection, verification and update processes are carried out manually by the Dream Uni Education Team. Our team consists of academic advisors, former international students and study abroad editors. For each data record, confirmation from at least two independent official sources is required (e.g. an official government data system + the university's official site). Automated scraping or algorithmic generation methods are not used.

What should I do if I see incorrect data?

At the bottom of every page there is a 'Report a data error' link, or you can write to iletisim@dreamuni.com. Your report is reviewed against the source by the Dream Uni Education Team within 48 hours; if confirmed, the correction is made the same day and the verifiedAt date is updated.

How do you measure data accuracy?

For each data record we maintain a reliability level; this level is determined by how official the source is, how recent the last verification date is, and the team's manual cross-check. Records whose reliability drops or whose freshness has expired are placed in the Education Team's 're-verify' queue and re-confirmed from the official source.

How do you protect my personal data?

Dream Uni is GDPR compliant. Data collected through the contact form is used only to provide consultancy services and is not shared with third parties. For details: the /data-protection page.
