Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) runs a broad network of campuses across Italy, Spain, and Brazil. At each campus, IED offers specialized programs that reflect the cultural and industrial character of the city around it. In Italy, IED has campuses in Milan, Rome, Turin, Florence, Cagliari, and Como. The Milan campus, established in 1966, is known for its fashion and industrial design programs and serves as the main campus. The Rome campus opened in 1973 in Italy's capital. It draws on the city's rich artistic heritage and offers programs in cinema, television, and new media.

The Turin campus opened in 1989 and is recognized for its transportation design programs, which reflect the city's role in the automotive industry. The Florence and Cagliari campuses offer programs in design and visual arts. The Como campus provides training in restoration and fine arts through the Accademia di Belle Arti Aldo Galli. In Spain, IED operates campuses in Madrid, Barcelona, and Bilbao. The Madrid campus opened in 1994 with programs in design and fashion.

Another campus opened in Barcelona in 2002, in the Gràcia neighborhood, with design programs focused on innovation and sustainability. The Bilbao campus, acquired in 2020, extends IED's reach into the Basque region and emphasizes contemporary design education. In Brazil, IED has campuses in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. The São Paulo campus opened in 2005 and offers programs in fashion, design, and visual arts. The Rio de Janeiro campus opened in 2014 in the historic Casa d'Itália.
