POLI.design was founded by the Politecnico di Milano as a consortium. It offers postgraduate programs and short courses in the field of design. As part of Italy's oldest and most prominent technical university, POLI.design gives you a modern educational approach combined with traditional techniques. How to get into POLI Design
If you want to apply to the graduate programs offered by POLI.design, you must meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree Diploma
- High Grade Point Average
- B2-Level English Proficiency Certificate
- An English proficiency certificate from an internationally recognized exam such as IELTS or TOEFL
- Updated CV
- 2 Letters of Recommendation
- Official transcripts listing the courses you took and the grades you earned throughout your undergraduate education.
- A portfolio file showing your body of work, required for creativity-based programs.

POLI.design is in the Bovisa district of northern Milan, a hub for education, research, and innovation with industrial roots. The campus stands on the site of the historic Ceretti & Tanfani factory, which once produced cable car cables. The site has been repurposed for POLI.design's academic activities and serves as a hub for the design school, together forming the POLIMI Design System. You can reach the campus easily by public transportation, since nearby train stations and tram lines connect it to the city center.
The campus covers about 20,000 square meters and blends historic and contemporary architecture. It holds specialized laboratories, studio spaces, and digital prototyping areas, and it fosters an environment open to interdisciplinary collaboration. Facilities here include the Academy of Experience Design and the Academy of Service Innovation. In them you can join the latest research and applied projects carried out with industry leaders. The campus's modern design strengthens interaction among students, faculty, and industry leaders.
The POLI.design Bovisa campus sits deep in Milan's dynamic and artistic environment. It hosts a range of events, including design competitions, masterclasses, and workshops.
