Wesleyan University's campus in Middletown, Connecticut covers more than 316 acres and a variety of architectural styles, ranging from Gothic to modern. That mix shows the university's long history and its changes over time. Olin Library is the main library on campus, with a broad collection of books, journals, databases, and more. It also holds study rooms, computer laboratories, and special collections such as the University Archives. The Center for the Arts (CFA), founded in 1973, functions as a center for the creative arts at the university.

It houses facilities for music, dance, theater, and visual arts, along with numerous theaters, galleries, laboratories, and practice spaces.

The Exley Science Center is named for Lloyd Exley, a Wesleyan trustee. It houses departments such as Physics, Biology, Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, and Earth and Environmental Sciences. Science labs and the Science Library are there as well. The Usdan University Center is the community center of the campus, with dining services, conference spaces, and offices for student activities and clubs. It is the campus’s center of student activity. The Freeman Athletic Center is a large facility that supports Wesleyan's athletic programs.

It has a pool, an ice arena, a fitness center, squash courts, and various outdoor sports fields. The Van Vleck Observatory is an active research facility, and it is a resource for astronomy students and the local community.

The campus offers you a variety of residential options, including program houses centered on a particular theme, interest, or language. The campus also has a number of distinctive outdoor spaces, including the 11-acre College Row, home to the popular Foss Hill for lounging and sledding. There are also other environmental efforts on campus, such as the Long Lane Organic Farm, a student-run organic farm, and the Wesleyan University Campus Birding Map, which identifies 17 birding areas on campus.

The energy and excitement of campus life at Wesleyan reflect its varied student body and its dedication to liberal education and individual growth. More than 200 student groups serve a wide variety of interests. Among them you will find academic and professional societies, cultural and identity groups, service organizations, artistic and performance groups, and a host of others. The Wesleyan Student Assembly (WSA) is the student government elected by the student body, and it provides funding to student organizations.

Greek life exists on campus, though it is not as prevalent as at other universities. Since 2014, Wesleyan's fraternities and sororities have been co-ed. Wesleyan offers a variety of housing options, including traditional residence halls, program houses centered on specific themes or languages, and "wood-frame houses" for upperclassmen. The wood-frame houses are small, typically older houses scattered around the campus perimeter, and they offer a more independent living experience. The university also provides housing for married students and for students who are parents.

Wesleyan provides numerous opportunities for you to take part in the performing arts, from theater productions to dance and music performances. The film studies program is well known, and it has produced numerous successful filmmakers and authors. The Wesleyan Cardinals compete in a variety of sports in the NCAA Division III New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC). These include baseball, basketball, football, cross country, soccer, and lacrosse. Intramural and club athletics are available as well.

On-campus culinary options include dining halls and coffee shops. The Usdan University Center is the primary dining facility, and it offers a diversity of culinary options. Wesleyan is strongly committed to service, and it encourages you to become involved in Middletown and the greater communities. The Jewett Center for Community Partnerships offers programs and resources to make this engagement easier.

Through the academic year, Wesleyan hosts a variety of events, including guest lectures, concerts, film screenings, and campus-wide celebrations such as Homecoming/Family Weekend and Commencement. During finals week, the "Midnight Breakfast" is a well-known tradition: faculty and staff serve students breakfast as a study break.

Wesleyan is committed to nurturing a campus community that is diverse and welcoming. The university provides resources and support through offices such as the Resource Center. That office promotes dialogue and comprehension regarding race, ethnicity, gender, and sexual orientation, among other topics.
