How to get into Waseda University
Waseda University offers a preparatory program called the "Japanese Language Program" to prepare students who are just beginning their university studies and equip them with Japanese language proficiency.
In addition, prospective international students wishing to apply to undergraduate programs offered by Waseda University must meet the following admission requirements.
- Completion of 12 Years of Basic Education
- 4-Year High School Diploma
- A Turkish High School Diploma must be evaluated and an equivalency certificate obtained from the relevant authorities in Japan.
- High Grade Point Average
or - International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma
or - SAT/ACT Exam Score
- Additionally, the prospective international student must have taken and sat for Advanced Placement (AP) program courses and exams relevant to the undergraduate program they are applying to.
- English Proficiency Certificate for programs taught in English
- English proficiency certificate obtained through an English proficiency exam such as TOEFL or IELTS
- Japanese Proficiency Certificate for programs taught in Japanese
- Japanese proficiency certificate obtained through a score on the "Japanese-Language Proficiency Test"
- Official transcript documents listing the courses taken and grades received by the applicant throughout high school
In addition to the above, prospective international students may be required to sit for exams administered by Waseda University and/or the relevant authorities in Japan, depending on the undergraduate program to which they are applying.
Prospective students wishing to apply to graduate programs offered by Waseda University must meet the following admission requirements.
- 4-Year Bachelor's Degree Diploma
- High Grade Point Average
- English Proficiency Certificate for programs taught in English
- English proficiency certificate obtained through an English proficiency exam such as TOEFL or IELTS
- Japanese Proficiency Certificate for programs taught in Japanese
