Keio University is a private research university founded in 1858 in Tokyo, Japan, by Fukuzawa Yukichi — an educator, philosopher, author, and entrepreneur — with the goal of providing education focused on Western studies. Originally established to offer instruction in Western disciplines, Keio University expanded rapidly, establishing its first university faculty in 1890 and becoming a leading institution in the Japanese higher education system. A member of the RU11 alliance of the most successful research universities in Japan, Keio University today provides higher education to more than 33,000 students across 11 campuses in Tokyo and Kanagawa, through 10 undergraduate faculties, 14 graduate schools, and approximately 30 research centers.

How to get into Keio University
Prospective international students who wish to apply to the undergraduate programs offered by Keio University must meet the following admission requirements.
- Completion of 12 Years of Basic Education
- 4-Year High School Diploma
- A Turkish high school diploma must be evaluated by the relevant authorities in Japan and an equivalency certificate must be obtained.
- High GPA
or - International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma
or - SAT/ACT Score
- Additionally, the prospective international student must have taken and completed courses and exams relevant to their intended undergraduate program under the Advanced Placement (AP) program.
- English Proficiency Certificate for programs taught in English
- An English proficiency certificate obtained through scores from exams such as TOEFL or IELTS
- Japanese Language Proficiency Certificate for programs taught in Japanese
- A Japanese language proficiency certificate obtained through scores from the "Japanese-Language Proficiency Test"
- Official transcripts listing the courses taken and grades received throughout the applicant's high school education
In addition to the above, prospective international students may be required to take exams administered by Keio University and/or relevant authorities in Japan, depending on the undergraduate program to which they are applying.
Prospective students who wish to apply to graduate programs offered by Keio University must meet the following admission requirements.
- 4-Year Bachelor's Degree Diploma
- High GPA
- English Proficiency Certificate for programs taught in English
- An English proficiency certificate obtained through scores from exams such as TOEFL or IELTS
- Japanese Language Proficiency Certificate for programs taught in Japanese
- A Japanese language proficiency certificate obtained through scores from the "Japanese-Language Proficiency Test"
- Official transcripts listing the courses taken and grades received throughout the applicant's undergraduate education
- Depending on department-specific admission requirements, a GRE/GMAT score may be requested.
