Wesleyan University is located in Middletown, Connecticut, a small town of about 45,000 people. Middletown is a part of the Hartford metropolitan area, which is located roughly in the state's geographic center and provides access to a larger urban environment. Wesleyan is approximately a half-hour journey from Hartford, two hours from Boston, and under three hours from New York City. This makes it relatively simple for students to explore the greater New England and East Coast regions.
