TU Darmstadt offers a preparatory program called “Preparatory Course and Support Programme for International Students - PreCIS” designed to prepare students entering higher education and to help them develop proficiency in the German language.

With 164 buildings and 600 acres of land, the university has multiple campuses. Education is offered across three campuses: the City Campus, the Lichtwiese Campus, and the Botanical Garden. There are also several buildings in other parts of Darmstadt and in the nearby town of Griesheim.
The City Campus is in a very central location in Darmstadt and is easily accessible by tram and bus from all parts of the city. The departments located here are Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, History and Social Sciences, Human Sciences, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, and Law and Economics.
