Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn

The University of Bonn, officially known as Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn, is a research-intensive public university founded in 1777 in the city of Bonn in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. Although the university's official founding year is recorded as 1818, its history can be traced back to the Kurkölnische Akademie Bonn, established in 1777.

A member of the U15 alliance of research-focused universities in Germany, the University of Bonn holds the title of "University of Excellence" under the German Universities Excellence Initiative and has consistently maintained a place in the top 100 of international university rankings for many years. The University of Bonn, whose graduates and faculty members have been awarded 11 Nobel Prizes, 5 Fields Medals, and 12 Leibniz Prizes, currently provides higher education opportunities to more than 33,000 students.

The University of Bonn offers a preparatory program called the "Intensive German Course" to help new students prepare for higher education and develop their German language proficiency.

In addition, prospective international students wishing to apply to undergraduate programs offered by the University of Bonn must meet the following admission requirements.

• Have completed 12 years of basic education
• 4-Year High School Diploma
• Strong GPA
• Have taken the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) administered by OSYM and have been placed at a university in Turkey offering a 4-year undergraduate degree.

  or
• European Baccalaureate (EB) Diploma
• English Proficiency Certificate for programs taught in English
  • An English Proficiency Certificate obtained by scoring on internationally recognized English proficiency exams such as IELTS or TOEFL
• German Proficiency Certificate for programs taught in German
  • A German Proficiency Certificate obtained by scoring on internationally recognized German proficiency exams such as TestDaF, TELC, or the Goethe-Zertifikat

Prospective international students wishing to apply to postgraduate programs offered by the University of Bonn must meet the following admission requirements.

• 4-Year Bachelor's Degree Diploma
• Strong GPA
• Have accumulated at least 180 ECTS credit hours during undergraduate study
• A GRE/GMAT score may be required based on the specific admission requirements of the program applied to.
