Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn

The University of Bonn, officially known as Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn, is a research-intensive public university founded in 1777 in the city of Bonn in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. Although the university's official founding year is recorded as 1818, its history can be traced back to the Kurkölnische Akademie Bonn, established in 1777.

A member of the U15 alliance of research-focused universities in Germany, the University of Bonn holds the title of "University of Excellence" under the German Universities Excellence Initiative and has consistently maintained a place in the top 100 of international university rankings for many years. The University of Bonn, whose graduates and faculty members have been awarded 11 Nobel Prizes, 5 Fields Medals, and 12 Leibniz Prizes, currently provides higher education opportunities to more than 33,000 students.
