Royal Holloway University of London (RHUL) is a research-intensive public university founded in Egham, Surrey, and one of the founding colleges of the University of London. Originally established in 1849 as Bedford College and renamed Royal Holloway College following the establishment of the Egham Campus in 1879 by Thomas Holloway — a Victorian-era entrepreneur and philanthropist — the institution was formally opened by Queen Victoria in 1886.
Royal Holloway College became one of the founding colleges of the University of London in 1900, and Bedford College and Royal Holloway College were merged in 1985. Royal Holloway maintains strong ties with prestigious institutions such as Yale University, the University of Toronto, the University of Melbourne, and the University of Hong Kong, and is currently a member of distinguished organizations including ACU, AMBA, EUA, and Universities UK, providing higher education opportunities to approximately 12,000 students.

Royal Holloway University of London's campus is located in Egham, Surrey, approximately 30 kilometers from central London. Built on 55 hectares of woodland between Windsor and Heathrow, the campus is closest to Egham Station and is approximately 45 minutes from Waterloo Station in central London. Founder's Building, which occupies a large portion of the campus, houses a kitchen, student cafeteria, lecture hall, library, student rooms, and the famous Picture Gallery. The majority of the university's academic programs are delivered at the Egham Campus.
Royal Holloway University of London also provides on-campus accommodation for its students.
Home to one of the most beautiful campuses in the United Kingdom, Royal Holloway University of London undertook a redevelopment project worth approximately £100 million between 2002 and 2008. The extensive grounds on which the university campus is situated allowed Royal Holloway University of London to build some of the best sports facilities among higher education institutions in the London area, helping the university earn a reputation as an athletic institution.
An aerobics studio, a fitness center, a sports hall, sports fields, and tennis courts are among the sports facilities available at the university.
