The University of Kent is a research-focused public university founded in 1965 in the county of Kent, in the United Kingdom. It was granted a royal charter in 1965. It is young next to other UK universities. Even so, it is a member of prestigious institutions, organizations, initiatives, and programs such as Universities UK and the SGroup European Universities' Network. Others include the European University Association (EUA), the Association of Commonwealth Universities, Eastern ARC, and the Universities at Medway partnership formed by three universities.
The university runs campuses in Canterbury, Medway, and Tonbridge in the UK, and also in European capitals such as Brussels, Athens, Rome, and Paris. Its students come from 158 different nationalities, and 41% of its teaching and research staff come from outside the UK. Today the University of Kent provides higher education to about 20,000 students.

How to get into University of Kent
The University of Kent offers a preparatory program called the "International Foundation Programme". It prepares incoming students for higher education and helps them develop their English language proficiency.

Take a closer look at University of Kent
The University of Kent has campuses in Canterbury, Medway, Brussels, and Paris. The main campus, in Canterbury, lies north of the city and covers 121 hectares. It is only 3 kilometers from the city center, on parkland that looks over the city and Canterbury Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The university has 6 colleges: Darwin, Eliot, Keynes, Rutherford, Turing, and Woolf. It provides accommodation for more than 5,000 students on the Canterbury Campus. The student residences, student houses, and academic buildings all sit together in the central area of the campus.
At the western end of the campus there is also a private student village, a few minutes' walk away. Six of the university's academic schools, the Templeman Library, the well-known Gulbenkian Arts Centre, and the Mandela Building are all on the Canterbury Campus. The university runs its own shuttle bus service, UniBus, with regular trips between the Canterbury Campus and the city center. The Medway Campus, near the cities of Rochester and Chatham, is divided into two sites, Pembroke and The Historic Dockyard Chatham, a 10-minute walk apart.
The Medway Campus first opened through a partnership formed by the University of Kent, the University of Greenwich, and Canterbury Christ Church University. All three universities operate on the Medway Campus.
The Canterbury Campus, the university's main campus, features a supermarket, a bookstore, a pharmacy, and laundry facilities. There are many cafes and pubs on campus, run either by the university itself or by the students' union. Rutherford, one of the university's 6 colleges, has a dining hall that students can use, while Darwin is home to the stylish Beagle Restaurant. The university's sports facilities fall into two areas. The first is a sports center with multipurpose gymnasiums, a fitness room, squash courts, and a climbing wall.
The second is the Sports Pavilion, which offers a variety of indoor and outdoor sports fields and training facilities. The well-known Gulbenkian Arts Centre has a theater and a cinema, as well as a small stage. That stage hosts monthly comedy nights and various shows such as Jazz at Five and the Chortle Student Comedy Awards. More than 175 student clubs and organizations are also active within the university.
