Oxford Brookes University is a public university in Oxford, England. Official records list 1992 as its founding year, but its history goes back to the Oxford School of Art, established in 1865. The school operated as the Oxford School of Art (1865–1891) and then as Oxford City Technical School (1891–1956). Oxford College of Technology (1956–1970) and Oxford Polytechnic (1970–1992) followed, and university status came in 1992. The university has produced more than 190,000 graduates since it began operating as a university. Students from more than 177 countries come here to study.

Oxford Brookes University runs four separate campuses: Headington, Wheatley, Harcourt Hill, and Swindon. The Headington Campus is divided into three areas — Headington Hill, Marston Road, and The Gipsy Lane. You will find the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Law in the Headington Hill area. The Faculty of Health and Life Sciences is based in the Marston Road area, and the other faculties sit along Gipsy Lane. The Harcourt Hill Campus sits on a hill covered with green space on the western side of Oxford. It hosts the humanities departments and the physical education department.
The Wheatley Campus lies 11 kilometers from Oxford city center and holds the technology, mathematics, and engineering departments. The Swindon Campus is at Delta Business Park in West Swindon. It is not a full campus in the traditional sense, and the work there focuses largely on the adult nursing department.
The Headington Campus has a supermarket, cafes and restaurants, the university library, a medical center, and Brookes Sport, the university's sports facility. It also holds lecture halls and exhibition spaces. The Harcourt Hill Campus offers cafes and restaurants along with the Brookes library. Its Brookes Sport facility includes a swimming pool, fitness center, and golf course. The Wheatley Campus has restaurants and cafes, a supermarket, the Brookes library, playing fields, and a sports hall. The Swindon Campus likewise has a library and dining facilities.
The campuses sit in Oxford, one of the best student cities, very close to the city center and its social and cultural amenities. Cities such as London, Bath, and Bristol are easy to reach by bus or train. Oxford Brookes University also has more than 100 student clubs and societies that you can join.
