Pennsylvania State University requires undergraduate students who will begin their first year at the University Park Campus to live on campus during that first year.

The University Park Campus, located in State College — the university's main campus — can be reached by air via Detroit Metropolitan Airport, Dulles International Airport in Washington, and Philadelphia International Airport in Philadelphia, and by bus from New York, Pittsburgh, Harrisburg, and Philadelphia.

Within State College, a wide variety of shops, stores, and restaurants are located just 10 to 20 minutes away by bus, taxi, or bicycle.

Penn State students can ride the Blue LOOP and White LOOP buses free of charge.
