Campus

Take a closer look at University of Colorado Boulder (CU Boulder)

CU Boulder's main campus is in the city of Boulder, south of the Pearl Street Mall and east of the Chautauqua Conference Center. It is made up mainly of academic buildings, student residence halls, and research facilities. The section known as East Campus is only about 400 meters from the main campus. The campus is recognized as one of the most beautiful university campuses in the United States. In 2017, the American Institute for Economic Research named the city of Boulder the number one college town in the country.

Campus Life

Like many other universities in the United States, CU Boulder gives students a highly active and vibrant campus life. The residence halls sit at the heart of it. Whether you are a first-year student or an upperclassman, you can choose from one of 24 halls on campus or just off campus. The halls offer 17 room types, from single rooms to four-person rooms and apartment-style accommodation. Residential communities are spread across the main campus and a separate area called Williams Village, about 2.4 km from the main campus.

A free shuttle runs between Williams Village and the main campus in both directions. Norlin Library gives you spacious study areas. The Community Center, which students know as C4C, houses Student Services offices such as Campus Card Services, Disability Services, and Career Services. C4C is also a full campus dining hall, home to 10 micro-restaurants serving cuisine from around the world. The university's well-known recreation center has basketball and volleyball courts, the only ice skating rink in Boulder, a lap pool, and a diving pool.

You will also find fitness studios for activities such as cycling and rowing. There is a climbing wall, a grass gymnasium, and an iconic outdoor pool shaped like the CU Boulder buffalo mascot. Performances run year-round at the university's performing arts facilities, and the student union often organizes activities on campus.
