Zhejiang University's main campus is located in Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang Province, a coastal city in eastern China situated 180 km south of Shanghai, China's largest commercial hub. One of China's seven ancient capitals, Hangzhou has a history spanning more than 2,200 years. The campus is designed in a modern style set within this deep tradition and history. Zhejiang University's five campuses are equipped with advanced teaching, research, and recreational facilities, including computing centers, sports centers, and entertainment centers.
The university library holds a collection of more than 5,940,000 volumes, over 100,000 e-books, and more than 17,000 full-text Chinese and foreign-language journals.
The university also has seven affiliated hospitals, 1 museum, 2 international joint institutes, and more than 200 student organizations.
