How to get into Tsinghua University
Tsinghua University offers preparatory programs that build Chinese language proficiency for students about to begin their university education.
If you want to apply to an undergraduate program at Tsinghua University, you must also meet the admission requirements listed below:
- Completion of 12 years of primary and secondary education, and at least 18 years of age
- High GPA
- Have taken the university entrance exams administered by OSYM in Turkey (TYT/AYT) and been accepted to a university offering a 4-year bachelor's degree program
or - SAT/ACT exam score
or - Advanced Placement (AP) exam scores
or - International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma
or - GCE A-Level diploma
- English proficiency certificate for programs taught in English

Tsinghua University is in the Haidian district of northwestern Beijing, surrounded by a number of historically significant sites. The campus also sits right next to Peking University. It was built on the grounds of the former imperial gardens of the Qing Dynasty. A panel of architects and campus designers in Forbes Magazine selected it as one of the most beautiful university campuses in the world. In the campus buildings you can see the subtleties of Chinese architectural art, and their designs bear the imprint of famous architects.
The Tsinghua University campus holds modern classrooms and a range of workshops and laboratories equipped with the latest technology. Its extensive library carries thousands of academic publications. There are also pleasant cafes and restaurants, plus dormitories and residences where you can stay comfortably.
The "Zijing International Student Apartments" on the Tsinghua University campus are for international students. They offer three types of dormitory room: single rooms, double rooms, and multi-occupancy dormitory rooms. Each room comes with clean bedding, air conditioning, internet access, and furniture suited to students' needs.
The campus also features a Gymnasium, a West Gym, a Zijing Tennis Court, and a West Lake Swimming Pool.
