How to get into Tsinghua University
Tsinghua University offers preparatory programs designed to develop Chinese language proficiency for students who are about to begin their university education.
In addition, prospective students who wish to apply to undergraduate programs offered by Tsinghua University must fulfill the admission requirements listed below:
- Completion of 12 years of primary and secondary education and be at least 18 years of age
- High GPA
- Have taken the university entrance exams administered by OSYM in Turkey (TYT/AYT) and have been accepted to a university offering a 4-year bachelor's degree program
or - SAT/ACT exam score
or - Advanced Placement (AP) exam scores
or - International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma
or - GCE A-Level diploma
- English proficiency certificate for programs taught in English
- English proficiency certificate obtained through internationally recognized English proficiency exams such as TOEFL and IELTS
- Chinese proficiency certificate for programs taught in Chinese
- Chinese proficiency certificate obtained through internationally recognized Chinese proficiency exams such as HSK (Hanyu shuiping kaoshi)
- Official transcripts listing the courses taken and grades received by the prospective student during high school

Located in the Haidian district in northwestern Beijing, Tsinghua University is surrounded by a number of historically significant sites. The university's campus is also situated right next to Peking University. Built on the grounds of the former imperial gardens of the Qing Dynasty, the university campus was selected as one of the most beautiful university campuses in the world by a panel of architects and campus designers in Forbes Magazine. The "Zijing International Student Apartments" located on the Tsinghua University campus offer international students three types of dormitory room options: single rooms, double rooms, and multi-occupancy dormitory rooms. Each room is equipped with clean bedding, air conditioning, internet access, and furniture suited to students' needs.
The campus also features a Gymnasium, a West Gym, a Zijing Tennis Court, and a West Lake Swimming Pool.
