How to get into University of Milan

The University of Milan offers undergraduate programs (Laurea) and graduate programs (Laurea Magistrale). While the majority of programs are taught in Italian, English-taught programs are also available.

Prospective students wishing to apply to undergraduate programs at the University of Milan must meet the following requirements:

  • 4-Year High School Diploma + a combined minimum score of 180 points on the TYT & YKS exams
  • High GPA
    or
  • International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma
    or
  • A-Level Diploma
  • Participation in the TOLC university entrance exam administered by the University of Milan, with a passing score
  • For the Faculty of Medicine: a sufficient score on the IMAT (International Medical Admissions Test)
  • Official transcripts listing all courses taken and grades received throughout the applicant's academic career
  • For English-taught programs: proof of English proficiency (an English proficiency certificate obtained through an internationally recognized exam such as IELTS or TOEFL iBT)
  • For Italian-taught programs: proof of Italian language proficiency

Take a closer look at University of Milan

The University of Milan is spread across the city of Milan and, more broadly, the Lombardy region, with buildings close enough to one another that many can be reached on foot or by bicycle. The university operates at 9 locations within Milan and 3 locations outside the city, with its main campus situated in downtown Milan. The Rector's Office, the University Library Coordination Unit, the Philosophy Library, the Law and Humanities Library, the History and Historical Documentation Library, the Antiquities and Modern Philology Library, the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Humanities, the Faculty of Law, and the School of Exercise and Sport Sciences are all located at the main campus on Via Festa del Perdono, while the Department of Pathophysiology and Transplantation is found on Via Francesco Sforza, and the Modern Languages and Literatures Center Library and the Department of Languages, Literatures, Cultures and Mediation are on Piazza Sant'Alessandro. Other university buildings within Milan are located on Via Conservatorio, Via Noto, Città Studi, and Via Kramer, while campuses outside Milan are found in Lodi, Sesto San Giovanni, and Edolo. In addition, the University of Milan School of Medicine operates across 13 separate healthcare institutions throughout Lombardy, including institutes, polyclinics, research centers, and hospitals.

Campus Life

The University of Milan provides student housing at Bassini Residence, Plinio Residence, Ripamonti Residence, Canzio Residence, Cascina Codazza Residence, and at the Martinitt Campus. University cafeterias and affiliated restaurants serving students can be found at virtually every location where university buildings are situated. The university's sports center, Centro Universitario Sportivo, gives students access to activities across more than 10 sports facilities and nearly every sport. ARCUS Milan — the Leisure and Culture Association of the University of Milan — also operates within the university and organizes cultural, recreational, and sports activities open to graduate students. Cinemas, museums, exhibitions, art galleries, theaters, and music venues are available throughout the areas where university buildings are located, and University of Milan students can take advantage of many of these services at a discount. In addition, a large number of student organizations and clubs are active within the university.
