Italian universities offer scholarship programs for international students. These scholarships are generally in the range of 5,000–12,000 EUR per year and may cover the full cost of one year of tuition. The DSU scholarship is one of the most well-known scholarships in Italy and is a need-based award granted by the Italian government based on the student's family's financial situation.
