How to get into Technische Universität Braunschweig

The Technical University of Braunschweig offers Preparatory German Courses for international students, to help them gain proficiency in German.

As an international student, you must meet the admission requirements set out below to apply to an undergraduate program at the Technical University of Braunschweig.

  • Successful Completion of 12 Years of Basic Education
  • 4-Year High School Diploma
    • Please note: with a high school diploma from a Turkish institution, you must sit the standardized Higher Education Foundations Examination (YKS), administered by OSYM. This documents that you have been assigned a place at a university in Turkey. Your exam results should indicate the name of the university you’ve been assigned to, the faculty, the program as well as the type of points.
  • High Grade Point Average

  • International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma

  • European Baccalaureate Diploma
  • If you have a US high school diploma, submit it with an Overview of subjects and grades from grade 9 to 12. The overview must state your cumulative GPA (unweighted).
    • Please note that direct admission is possible only if you have passed AP exams and achieved specific results.
  • If you have a General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level, Advanced Subsidiary Level, or International Advanced Level), you are required to submit the official certificate. It must show all of your final AS and A Level results.
    • Please note that predicted grades issued by your school are not accepted.
  • Certificate in German Proficiency
    • Certificate in German proficiency received through internationally recognized proficiency tests such as TestDaF, Telc, DSH, Goethe-Zertifikat.

The Technical University of Braunschweig (TU Braunschweig) is based in the German city of the same name, in the state of Lower Saxony. More than 16,000 students make their home on the campus's 100 hectares (250 acres) of land. The grounds have two main parts: the center campus and the north campus.
