How to get into Maynooth University

Maynooth University offers preparatory programs under the name "International Foundation Programme" to help incoming students prepare for higher education and develop English language proficiency.

In addition, prospective students wishing to apply to undergraduate programs offered by Maynooth University must meet the following requirements.

Campus

Take a closer look at Maynooth University

The main campus of Maynooth University is located along the main road between Maynooth and Kilcock, and is divided into the North Campus and the South Campus. A pedestrian crossing on the Kilcock Road connects the two campuses. The university library, which dates back to the opening of the college in 1795 and forms an important part of Maynooth University, operates across two buildings — the John Paul II Library and the Russell Library — and holds a collection of more than 450,000 printed publications and over 42,000 electronic resources. The South Campus is home to St Patrick's College and the university's administrative offices, as well as the vast majority of St Patrick's College's facilities. Departments such as Law, Mathematics, Music, Geography, Economics, and History conduct their academic activities on the South Campus. The North Campus, a newer campus compared to the South Campus, houses the arts building, the bioscience and electronic engineering building, the Irish Film Institute, production and design studios, the Faculty of Business, and the Faculty of Education, as well as student accommodation in the form of Courtyard Apartments, River Apartments, Rye Hall & Apartments, and Village Apartments. The university's student union center and sports complex are also located on the North Campus. Maynooth is situated 25 kilometers from Dublin, Ireland's capital, and travel between the two cities can be made by bus or train.

Campus Life

The university campuses located in the heart of Maynooth allow students to take advantage of both the social and cultural offerings of city life and the amenities available on the university's North and South Campuses. In addition to the cafés, restaurants, a theater, conference and concert halls, the university sports complex, and other facilities on campus, students at Maynooth can find numerous cafés, restaurants, museums, art galleries, cinemas, pubs, and shops in the town of Maynooth itself. The university's main sports complex and other athletic facilities give students the opportunity to participate in a wide range of sports, while the student clubs and societies active within the university bring together enthusiasts from virtually every interest area. The university's student union, along with its student clubs and societies, regularly organizes events open to all students, while a variety of festivals and events take place year-round in Maynooth, in the capital Dublin, and in other popular cities across Ireland.
