Trinity College Dublin

Trinity College Dublin (TCD), officially the University of Dublin, Trinity College, is Ireland's oldest and most prestigious university. It was founded in 1592 by royal charter of Queen Elizabeth I.

Trinity was modeled on the universities of Oxford and Cambridge. It was originally established to reinforce the Protestant Reformation in Ireland, and for many years Catholics were either prohibited or discouraged from attending.

Over time the university became more inclusive, and it grew into an important center of learning and research. Trinity's historic campus in the heart of Dublin blends 16th-century architecture with modern facilities. The university is recognized as a symbol of Ireland's intellectual and cultural life.

Trinity College Dublin has produced a large number of world-renowned academics, writers, and Nobel Prize laureates. Its most famous alumni include Jonathan Swift, author of Gulliver's Travels, and the celebrated playwright and poet Oscar Wilde. Samuel Beckett, who received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1969, is among them as well.

  • The “International Foundation Programme” requires a 4-year high school diploma, a high GPA (MEB Diploma Score of at least 70), and an English proficiency certificate.

• Official transcripts listing the courses you took and the grades you earned throughout high school.
