Trinity College Dublin

Trinity College Dublin (TCD), officially known as the University of Dublin, Trinity College, is Ireland's oldest and most prestigious university, founded in 1592 by royal charter of Queen Elizabeth I.

Modeled after the universities of Oxford and Cambridge, Trinity was originally established to reinforce the Protestant Reformation in Ireland, and for many years Catholics were either prohibited or discouraged from attending.

Over time the university evolved into a more inclusive institution and became an important center of learning and research. Trinity's historic campus in the heart of Dublin blends 16th-century architecture with modern facilities and is recognized as a symbol of Ireland's intellectual and cultural life.

Trinity College Dublin has produced a large number of world-renowned academics, writers, and Nobel Prize laureates. Among its most famous alumni are Jonathan Swift, author of Gulliver's Travels, the celebrated playwright and poet Oscar Wilde, and Samuel Beckett, who received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1969.

Trinity has also been a hub of scientific innovation, with significant contributions to fields such as nanotechnology, immunology, and neuroscience.

Trinity College Dublin offers a 10-week English preparatory program called the “Pre-Sessional Programme” to prepare students for higher education and develop their English language proficiency.

• An Anatolian High School Diploma or a Science High School Diploma is not sufficient for direct admission to Trinity College Dublin; students applying from Turkey must complete a program called the “International Foundation Programme” before beginning undergraduate study.
  • The “International Foundation Programme” requires a 4-year high school diploma, a high GPA (MEB Diploma Score of at least 70), and an English proficiency certificate.

  • English proficiency certificate obtained through internationally recognized English language proficiency exams such as IELTS, TOEFL iBT, or PTE Academic.
• Official transcripts listing the courses taken and grades earned throughout high school.

Prospective students wishing to apply to graduate programs offered by Trinity College Dublin must meet the admission requirements listed below.

• 4-Year Bachelor's Degree Diploma
• High GPA
  • The prospective student must hold a diploma with at least a 2:1 honours grade and must have attended a university recognized by Trinity College Dublin.
• English Proficiency Certificate
  • English proficiency certificate obtained through internationally recognized English language proficiency exams such as IELTS, TOEFL iBT, or PTE Academic.
