La Trobe University operates across 7 campuses: Bundoora Melbourne Campus, Melbourne City Campus, Sydney Campus, Bendigo Campus, Shepparton Campus, Albury-Wodonga Campus, and Mildura Campus. The Melbourne Campus in Bundoora — the university's founding and main campus — opened in 1967 and hosts virtually all of La Trobe's academic programs, with the exception of education sciences, pharmacy, and dentistry. Located in the northeastern suburbs of Melbourne, the campus is 14 kilometers from the city center. The Melbourne City Campus, situated in Melbourne's central business district, hosts some of the university's postgraduate programs in business, commerce, health, and law. The Sydney Campus, the university's newest, opened in 2017 in Sydney's central business district and offers select programs in accounting, business, management, information technology, and health sciences. The Bendigo Campus, La Trobe's largest regional campus, is home to more than 4,000 students and is located in Flora Hill, 3 kilometers from the Bendigo city center. It offers programs in allied health and nursing, science and engineering, education, arts, business, and information technology. The Shepparton Campus, opened in 1994 and located a two-hour drive from Melbourne, houses the university's education and nursing programs. The Albury-Wodonga Campus, covering 26 hectares and 3 kilometers from the Wodonga city center, hosts select programs in education, health sciences, biology, and business. The Mildura Campus, opened in 1996, serves as a training center for some undergraduate and postgraduate programs while also functioning as an important resource for the local workforce.
