Eindhoven University of Technology

Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) is a public technical university in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. The university is well-known for its technical and engineering disciplines. The institution was founded in 1956 as part of a larger drive to expand the number of technically skilled professionals in the Netherlands following WWII. It began as a technical college before receiving university status in 1986. TU/e offers a diverse spectrum of undergraduate and graduate engineering, scientific, and technology degrees.

The university is well-known for its strong research emphasis, and its graduates are in high demand by companies. 

The TU/e campus sits in the heart of Eindhoven, in a complex of modern buildings that house faculties, departments, institutes, student housing, and other facilities. The university is divided into faculties, each of which focuses on a specific field of study, such as industrial engineering and innovation sciences, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, built environment, mathematics and computer science, chemical engineering and chemistry, physics, biomedical engineering, and industrial design.

Admission Requirements For International Students

Undergraduate

Prospective international students who wish to apply to undergraduate programs offered by Eindhoven University Technology must meet the admission requirements set out below.

• Successful Completion of 11 or 12 Years of Basic Education
• High School Diploma with both high grade point average and at least 4 AP subjects and exams, including the one(s) shown in the table below. All AP exams must have a minimum score of 3. AP Research, AP Capstone, AP Seminar and AP Studio Art are not accepted. The AP exam certificates must be sent directly to the university by the AP College Board.

• European Baccalaureate with the subjects with the following subjects:

• International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma with the subjects indicated in the following table;
  • Eindhoven University of Technology only accepts the full International Baccalaureate Diploma, which includes the core (Theory of Knowledge, Extended Essay and CAS) and subjects taken from groups 1-5 or groups 1-6 - of which at least three subjects must be at Higher Level. The overall score must be ≥ 24. Individual diploma program course results are not accepted for admission purposes.

• IGCSE/International AS & A-Levels
  • At least 3 GCE accepted A-levels in general academic subjects (see below) (six different subjects in total)

• Certificate in English Proficiency for programs taught in English
  • Academic IELTS with a minimum overall score of 6.5
  • TOEFL iBT with a minimum score of 90
  • Cambridge English test results: C1 advanced (formerly CAE) or C2 proficiency (formerly CPE).
• Certificate in Dutch Proficiency for programs taught in Dutch
  • CNaVT is an international Dutch proficiency exam that can be taken worldwide
• Official transcripts of the courses taken by the applicant in throughout high school education 

Graduate

Prospective international students who wish to apply for graduate programs offered by Eindhoven University of Technology must meet the admission requirements outlined below.

• Bachelor's Degree Diploma
• High Grade Point Average
• Official transcripts of the courses taken by the applicant during college/university education
• Work experience may be required for certain programs
• Certificate in English Proficiency for programs taught in English
  • IELTS Academic, TOEFL iBT, Cambridge English Tests (C1 advanced or C2 proficiency)
• Certificate in Dutch Proficiency for programs taught in Dutch
  • CNaVT is an international Dutch proficiency exam that can be taken worldwide
• GRE/GMAT exam score may be required in accordance with the specific admission requirements of certain programs.
