How to get into Maastricht University (UM)

Maastricht University’s campuses are located in two distinct areas within Maastricht. The arts, humanities, and social sciences departments are housed in a historic building in the city center, while psychology, medicine, and life sciences are located at the modern Randwyck campus on the outskirts of the city. Since 2013, the university has purchased and incorporated several additional buildings on the site of the former Tapijn barracks, adjacent to the city park.
One of the university’s greatest strengths is the large number of students and faculty who come from abroad. As a result, campus life and academic life offer students a multicultural environment. While studying at UM, students can meet and socialize with people from different cultures. Students at Maastricht can also join a range of student associations, international societies, or debate clubs.
Cafes and restaurants, shopping centers, and libraries both on campus and off campus cater to students’ needs. Students can visit many places on and off campus where they can enjoy themselves.
