How to get into University of Southampton

Highfield Campus — the oldest, largest, and main campus of the University of Southampton — is situated in the northern part of the city of Southampton.

As the academic heart of the University of Southampton, Highfield Campus is home to: the Hartley Library, one of the largest university libraries in southern England, open 24 hours a day; the Valley Gardens, tucked into a corner of Highfield Campus for students seeking quiet and focus; the Jubilee Sports Centre, offering a wide range of activities including a 25-meter swimming pool, 4 squash courts, a martial arts studio, and an indoor cycling studio; the Centenary Building, the campus's newest building where some classes are held; and wind tunnels frequently used by the University of Southampton's sports teams, the aviation industry, motorsports, and the maritime industry.

At the Boldrewood Innovation Campus — the university's newest campus, located near Southampton Common, the city's largest green space — you'll find a 138-meter towing tank, one of the largest in the UK and Europe, the National Infrastructure Laboratory, and the Boldrewood Café.

Avenue Campus, just a few minutes from Southampton Common — the city's largest green space — houses the Archaeology Building and Bone Laboratory, the Avenue Library, and tennis, netball, and basketball courts.

The Southampton General Hospital Campus, where much of the learning for University of Southampton medical students takes place, includes the Health Sciences Laboratory, Clinical Skills Rooms, the Cancer Immunology Centre, and LifeLab, a state-of-the-art teaching laboratory.

Waterfront Campus, located at the National Oceanography Centre on Southampton's waterfront, is home to the Research Aquarium, the Coral Reef Laboratory, the National Oceanography Library, and RV Callista, a 20-meter catamaran used for coastal and shelf research.

Finally, Winchester Campus, situated alongside the River Itchen, houses the Winchester School of Art Gallery, the Winchester School of Art Student Union, and the Specialist Arts Library.
