How to get into Washington University in St. Louis

Home to several campuses, each dedicated to different academic and research disciplines, Washington University in St. Louis's main campus — the Danforth Campus — is located in Clayton, Missouri, just west of St. Louis. Hosting the schools of arts, sciences, business, law, and engineering, the campus serves as the heart of WashU's academic and student life. 

The campus is a mix of Collegiate Gothic and modern architecture, featuring iconic buildings such as Brookings Hall, Olin Library, and the Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts. The Danforth Campus also serves as home to the Athletics Complex, where the university's sports teams, known as the WashU Bears, compete in NCAA Division III athletics. 

The Medical Campus, located on the Midtown West Side of St. Louis, is home to Washington University School of Medicine, one of the top medical schools in the U.S. This campus is affiliated with Barnes-Jewish Hospital and St. Louis Children's Hospital, and is a center for innovation in medical research and healthcare. 

The nearby North Campus and West Campus provide additional administrative, library, and conference facilities. Additionally, the Tyson Research Center, a 2,000-acre ecological research site located outside of St. Louis, enables hands-on environmental and biological study.

Campus Life
