The University of Minnesota - Twin Cities has two main campuses located in the cities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul, Minnesota. The larger Minneapolis campus is divided into two distinct areas: the East Bank and the West Bank.

The East Bank is home to the historic Northrop Mall, a central grassy corridor flanked by iconic buildings such as Northrop Auditorium, Walter Library, and Coffman Memorial Union. The university's College of Liberal Arts, College of Science and Engineering, and Carlson School of Management are all situated in this area.

The West Bank, located just across the Washington Avenue Bridge, is known for its vibrant cultural diversity and houses the Humphrey School of Public Affairs, the Law School, and performing arts venues such as Rarig Center and Ted Mann Concert Hall.

Located about three miles to the east, the Saint Paul campus offers more green space, agricultural facilities, and a quieter environment. Home to programs in agricultural sciences, veterinary medicine, food sciences, environmental sciences, and natural resources, this campus houses leading institutions such as the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences (CFANS) and the College of Veterinary Medicine.

Key facilities include extensive research farms, greenhouses, the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, and specialized centers dedicated to animal health and sustainable agriculture. Sports play a significant role in campus culture, with the Minnesota Golden Gophers competing in NCAA Division I athletics as part of the Big Ten Conference. Popular sports include football, basketball, hockey, volleyball, and wrestling, and students passionately cheer on their teams at venues like Huntington Bank Stadium, Williams Arena, and 3M Arena at Mariucci.
