Take a closer look at Vanderbilt University
Vanderbilt University operates across two campuses: the main campus, where the majority of the university's academic activities take place, and the Peabody Campus, which is home to the Peabody College of Education and Human Development. The university's main campus is located approximately 2.4 kilometers southwest of downtown Nashville, along the corridor formed by the bustling West End Avenue and 21st Avenue. The oldest part of the main campus is known for its wide tree-lined areas and green spaces that stand in contrast to the Nashville city skyline. Directly across 21st Avenue is the Peabody Campus, which houses the Peabody College of Education and Human Development. The Peabody Campus is also home to the Martha Rivers Ingram Commons student dormitories.
Home to one of the largest campuses in the state, Vanderbilt University — with its 30 student dormitories, 18 dining venues, more than 475 student organizations, more than 35 student clubs and university sports teams, and its location just steps from Nashville, the capital of Tennessee — offers its students nearly unlimited opportunities to build community, discover their passions, and make a difference. While the university's sports center opens doors to a more active lifestyle, the student organizations operating within the university bring together enthusiasts from virtually every area of interest. In addition, the Grand Ole Opry, Ryman Auditorium, the historic Belle Meade Winery, Ole Smoky Distillery & Yee-Haw Brewing Company, the Johnny Cash Museum, and the Andrew Jackson Hermitage Museum are among the must-visit destinations in Nashville.
