Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST)

The Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology, more commonly known as UNIST, is a public university established in 2007 in Ulsan, South Korea. Together with KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology), GIST (Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology), and DGIST (Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology), UNIST is one of South Korea's four science and technology institutes. It was established in response to the growing demand for higher education in Ulsan — South Korea's industrial hub, where industry leaders such as Hyundai Motor, Hyundai Heavy Industries, and SK Energy carry out their manufacturing and administrative operations. UNIST conducts research and educational activities, particularly in the natural sciences and engineering, and uses English as the language of instruction across all of its programs. The Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology provides higher education opportunities to more than 7,200 students at its campus in Eonyang.

The Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology offers preparatory programs under the name "Special Course for International Students" to prepare international students new to university education for higher education.

In addition, prospective international students who wish to apply to undergraduate programs offered by the Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology must fulfill the admission requirements listed below.

• Completion of 12 Years of Basic Education
• 4-Year High School Diploma
• High GPA
  • A Turkish High School Diploma must first be reviewed by the relevant authorities in Korea and then by the university in order to obtain an equivalency certificate.

• International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma
  or
• Have been accepted to and completed the first year at a university offering a 4-year bachelor's degree program in Turkey
• English Proficiency Certificate
  • English proficiency certificate obtained through internationally recognized English proficiency exams such as TOEFL iBT and IELTS

In addition to the above, international students may be required to take entrance exams administered by the relevant authorities in Korea and/or by the university.

Prospective international students who wish to apply to graduate programs offered by the Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology must fulfill the admission requirements listed below.

• 4-Year Bachelor's Degree Diploma
• High GPA
  • English proficiency certificate obtained through internationally recognized English proficiency exams such as TOEFL iBT and IELTS
• GRE/GMAT Exam Score
• Work Experience in the Relevant Field
