How to get into University of Birmingham

The University of Birmingham offers a preparatory program called "Pre-sessional English" for students who will be starting their first year of university education.

In addition, prospective students wishing to apply to undergraduate programs offered by the University of Birmingham must meet the following requirements.

  • Anadolu High School Diploma / Science High School Diploma
    • For "Foundation Pathways": MEB Diploma Score of 70 or above / For undergraduate degree program A-Level equivalencies, see the table below.

Campus

Take a closer look at University of Birmingham

Across the 272-hectare site allocated to the University of Birmingham, there are two campuses — Edgbaston and Selly Oak — and more than 200 buildings.

The University of Birmingham's main campus, Edgbaston Campus, is located approximately 5 kilometers to the southwest of Birmingham city center.

The university's other campus, Selly Oak Campus, is located very close to the main campus — directly to the south of the Edgbaston Campus.

The University of Birmingham is the only research-focused public university in the United Kingdom with its own train station — University Station, opened in 1978 to serve the university and its hospital.

Spread across the university's 272-hectare site, the campuses house state-of-the-art institutes and centers such as the Collaborative Teaching Laboratory, the Molecular Sciences Facility, the Birmingham Forest Research Institute, the Institute of Translational Medicine, and the High Temperature Research Centre. In addition, the University of Birmingham plans to place its campuses among the world's smartest and most sustainable campuses in partnership with Siemens.
 

Campus Life

The campuses of the University of Birmingham, within walking distance of the center of Birmingham, offer students a balanced city and campus experience. The first civic university in the region, the University of Birmingham's campuses feature libraries, lecture halls, more than 30 cafes and restaurants, supermarkets, hair salons, and the University Sports Centre, as well as the Barber Institute of Fine Arts — which hosts lunchtime concerts, evening lectures, and literary workshops — the Bramall Music Building with a 450-seat concert hall, the Lapworth Museum of Geology, Winterbourne House and Garden, the Cadbury Research Library, the famous Sculpture Trail on the Edgbaston Campus, more than 500 student clubs and societies where students can expand their networks and enjoy their time, and the Student Guild representing approximately 30,000 students.
