Durham University

Founded in 1832, Durham University — officially known as the University of Durham — is a research-focused public university located in Durham, England.

Established by Act of Parliament in 1832 and granted a royal charter in 1837, Durham University is not only a member of the Russell Group, which comprises the United Kingdom's most prestigious research universities, but also a member of numerous other respected organizations and associations, including the Association of Commonwealth Universities, the Coimbra Group, the European University Association, the N8 Group, the Matariki Network of Universities, the University of the Arctic, Universities UK, and the Virgo Consortium.

Regarded as the third oldest university in England after Oxford and Cambridge, Durham University offers students more than 330 undergraduate and graduate programs across 17 colleges and 26 academic departments at its campuses in Durham City and Queen's Campus in Stockton-on-Tees.

Durham University offers a pre-sessional English preparation program called “Pre-sessional Academic English Courses” to help students develop the academic and English language skills they need for higher education.

Students wishing to apply for undergraduate programs offered by Durham University must meet the following admission requirements.

• Anatolian High School Diploma / Science High School Diploma
  • Only high school diplomas from schools recognized by Durham University are accepted.
  • A-Level grades accepted by Durham University range from A*A*A to ABB. For the MEB high school diploma equivalencies, please see the table below.

  • Diploma Score: At least 36 – 38
• English Proficiency Certificate
  • An English Proficiency Certificate obtained through exams such as IELTS UKVI, TOEFL iBT, or PTE Academic
• Official transcripts listing the courses taken and grades earned during the applicant's high school studies, and particularly in Grade 12
• In addition, Durham University may require applicants to sit exams such as TMUA or ESAT and achieve a sufficient score

Students wishing to apply for graduate programs offered by Durham University must meet the following admission requirements.

• Bachelor's Degree Diploma
• High GPA
• English Proficiency Certificate
  • An English Proficiency Certificate obtained through exams such as IELTS UKVI, TOEFL iBT, or PTE Academic
• Official transcripts listing the courses taken and grades earned throughout the applicant's undergraduate studies
• A GRE/GMAT score may be required depending on the admission requirements of the graduate program to which the applicant is applying.
