Durham University

Durham University began in 1832 and is officially known as the University of Durham. It is a research-focused public university in Durham, England.

An Act of Parliament established the university in 1832, and a royal charter followed in 1837. Durham belongs to the Russell Group, which brings together the United Kingdom's most prestigious research universities. It is also a member of many other respected organizations and associations, including the Association of Commonwealth Universities, the Coimbra Group, the European University Association, the N8 Group, the Matariki Network of Universities, the University of the Arctic, Universities UK, and the Virgo Consortium.

Durham is regarded as the third oldest university in England, after Oxford and Cambridge. The university offers students more than 330 undergraduate and graduate programs. These run across 17 colleges and 26 academic departments, at the Durham City campus and Queen's Campus in Stockton-on-Tees.

Durham University runs a pre-sessional English program called “Pre-sessional Academic English Courses”. It helps you build the academic and English language skills you need for higher education.
