Campus

Take a closer look at University of Connecticut

The university's primary and original campus is located in Hartford, the capital of Connecticut. The main campus, situated in Storrs — 22 miles east of Hartford — is home to the Connecticut Repertory Theatre, managed by the Department of Dramatic Arts. The University of Connecticut Libraries on campus form the largest public research collection in the state. The main library is the Homer D. Babbidge Library, located at the center of the campus. 

Campus Life

The campuses host a wide variety of student organizations, including music groups, religious groups, athletics groups, political groups, cultural groups, commercial, military, arts, and community service clubs. Students can actively participate by joining whichever group interests them. Student organizations established to manage and coordinate student life include the Undergraduate Student Government, the Interfraternity Council, the Panhellenic Council, UConnPIRG, the Residential Life Association, and various residential councils.

The Student Union Board of Governors, the university's programming board, plans the largest student events on campus. Concerts, lectures, exhibitions, and fairs are organized throughout the year, and everyone is encouraged to attend.
