Campus

Take a closer look at University of Calgary

The university's main campus is located approximately 10 kilometers from downtown Calgary. The university has four campuses in the Calgary area and an additional campus in Doha, Qatar. The main campus, built in the 1960s, continuously renews itself and is developed to meet students' needs.

Campus Life

The Calgary Campus currently houses 11 of the university's 14 faculties, world-class research and athletics facilities, and comprehensive support services for students, faculty, and staff. Located in the northwest of Calgary, the main campus covers more than 200 hectares — a larger area than the city's downtown core. The Science, Engineering, Biology, Social Sciences, and Kinesiology buildings make up the north side of the campus, while professional faculties such as Education, Environmental Design, Nursing, Social Work, Business, and Law are situated on the south side.

Residence accommodation is available on university campuses. Dormitories offer both single and double rooms. Room rates vary depending on the room type you select. You may also opt for apartments or hotels near the school, though we recommend living in on-campus housing.

The Taylor Institute for Teaching and Learning, located on the main campus, is dedicated to better understanding and enhancing student learning. Completed in 2016, the building was designed around three guiding principles: flexibility, transparency, and collaboration. Study spaces are equipped with the latest technology.
