Campus

Take a closer look at University of Alberta

With five separate campuses — four in Edmonton and one in Camrose — and eighteen different faculties spread across these campuses, the University of Alberta is Canada's fifth-largest university. The university's main campus, the North Campus, is situated on the North Saskatchewan River valley and spans approximately 200 acres. Most of the university's teaching and research activities take place on the North Campus, which is home to over 90 buildings, including the Walter C. Mackenzie Health Sciences Centre — one of the largest health sciences complexes in North America. The North Campus also houses the Butterdome, a multi-purpose sports facility, and the Van Vliet Centre, which is equipped with a pool, track, and various fitness facilities. The South Campus, another of the university's Edmonton campuses, is located approximately 3 km south of the main campus and hosts the Faculty of Agricultural, Life & Environmental Sciences, as well as the University of Alberta Botanic Garden. In addition to these campuses, the university also has a presence in downtown Edmonton, where the Campus Saint-Jean — primarily serving the Francophone community — and the Enterprise Square campus are also located. The Augustana Campus in Camrose, approximately 100 km southeast of Edmonton, primarily serves as a liberal arts college.

The university has more than 900 student clubs and organizations where students with similar interests can come together, covering a wide spectrum from culture and arts to sports, from academics to volunteering.
