How to get into University of Liverpool

The University of Liverpool runs a preparatory program called “Pre-Sessional English Programmes”. It helps incoming students prepare for higher education and build their English language proficiency.

Campus

Take a closer look at University of Liverpool

The main campus of the University of Liverpool is in the heart of Liverpool, a vibrant and historic city in the northwest of England. It spreads across 100 acres in the city centre, and blends historic architecture with modern academic and research facilities.

The campus is home to the university's three faculties (Health and Life Sciences; Humanities and Social Sciences; Science and Engineering). Alongside them you will find notable facilities such as the Sydney Jones and Harold Cohen libraries, state-of-the-art laboratories, and lecture theatres. Specialist centres such as the Institute of Infection, Veterinary and Ecological Sciences are also based here.

The University of Liverpool Management School and the School of Medicine are also based on the campus. Beyond Liverpool, the university has an international campus in Suzhou, China, known as Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU).

XJTLU was founded jointly with Xi'an Jiaotong University in 2006. It is an independent institution, and its dual degrees are accredited by both China's Ministry of Education and the University of Liverpool.

Campus Life

At the heart of student life is the Liverpool Guild of Students, one of the oldest student unions in the United Kingdom. The Guild represents students, runs campaigns, and supports more than 200 societies and clubs.

These range from academic and cultural groups to special interest clubs, volunteering opportunities, and performing arts societies. Sport and social activities are an integral part of the student experience across the University of Liverpool's campuses.

The university supports more than 50 sports clubs under the Athletic Union. Teams compete in local and national leagues, including British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS). Facilities include a state-of-the-art sports centre, a swimming pool, a gym, and outdoor pitches.

Annual traditions such as the “Varsity” competition against local rival Liverpool John Moores University foster a strong school spirit.
