The university's campus is on the Clear Water Bay Peninsula and spreads across 60 hectares. Its architecture follows a master plan submitted jointly by Simon Kwan & Associates and Percy Thomas Partnership. That plan placed second in an architectural competition held before the university was established. Because the campus sits on sloping terrain, academic facilities stand on the upper terraces. Undergraduate student residences and sports facilities are down by the waterfront. You can reach the university from the city center by MTR, public bus, or minibus.
The campus has modern classrooms and workshops, state-of-the-art laboratories, a large library, and student residence halls. There are also cafes and restaurants where you can socialize with other students, 18 of them in total. For undergraduates there are 9 residence halls, set at the waterfront and on the mid-level terraces of the campus.
The university's Lee Shau Kee Library holds a central place on campus and has 5 floors. Its study rooms are where you can study, carry out research, and work on assignments and projects. The library also has a Learning Commons open 24 hours a day, a technology-rich environment for active learning and instruction. Its holdings include historical maps of China and the rest of Asia, made by Chinese and Western cartographers over the past 500 years.
The campus also has 3 banks, 1 supermarket, 1 bookstore, and 1 clinic.
