Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU)

Hong Kong Baptist University is a public university established on March 6, 1956, in the city of Kowloon in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, with a particular focus on the fundamental sciences. Originally founded as Hong Kong Baptist College in 1956 and elevated to university status in 1994, the institution is among the most prominent universities in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. A member of the Association of Southeast Asian Institutions of Higher Learning and ACUCA, Hong Kong Baptist University provides higher education to more than 12,000 students across 8 faculties on 5 campuses: Ho Sin Hang Campus, Shaw Campus, Baptist University Road Campus, Kai Tak Campus, and Shek Mun Campus.

Hong Kong Baptist University offers a preparatory program called "College Foundation Studies" to prepare students who are just beginning university for higher education and to help them develop language proficiency.

In addition, prospective international students wishing to apply to undergraduate programs offered by Hong Kong Baptist University must meet the following admission requirements.

• Completion of 12 Years of Basic Education
• 4-Year High School Diploma (Strong GPA)
  • Hong Kong Baptist University may require you to have taken TYT+AYT exams in addition to a 4-year high school diploma and to provide your exam scores.

• GCE A-Level / International A-Level Diploma

• SAT/ACT Score

• Advanced Placement (AP) 
  • Applicants must have taken and completed AP courses that are directly related to the program they intend to pursue at the university
• English Proficiency Documentation for programs taught in English
  • English proficiency certificate obtained through scores on exams such as IELTS, TOEFL, or PTE Academic
• Chinese Proficiency Documentation for programs taught in Chinese
  • Chinese proficiency certificate obtained through scores on exams such as HSK 

In addition, Hong Kong Baptist University may require you to have taken exams such as the International STEM Test (THUSSAT, TIST, etc.) for certain programs and may wish to see the scores you received.

Prospective international students wishing to apply to graduate programs offered by Hong Kong Baptist University must meet the following admission requirements.

• 4-Year Bachelor's Degree
• Strong GPA
• Official transcripts documenting the courses taken and grades earned throughout undergraduate study
• GRE/GMAT scores may be required depending on the program-specific admission requirements of the applicant's chosen department
• At least 2 letters of recommendation
