Leibniz Universität Hannover

The Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Universität Hannover, more often referred to simply as the Leibniz University Hannover, a member of TU9, an association of the largest and most notable German Institutes of Technology, is a public research university that can be found in the city of Hannover, Germany. The university was named after the famous polymath Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, and it is one of the most prestigious and oldest institutions of higher learning in Germany in the fields of science and technology. Since its establishment in 1831 as the Higher Trade School of Hannover, the institution has undergone several phases of growth as well as a number of name changes over the course of its history. In 2006, it was decided to commemorate Leibniz by naming the building after him in recognition of the extensive contributions that he made to a variety of academic subjects, ranging from philosophy to mathematics, as well as his strong relationship to the city of Hannover.

There are a total of nine faculties housed inside Leibniz University Hannover. Some of these faculties include those for architecture and landscape sciences, electrical engineering and computer science, mechanical engineering, natural sciences, and law, among others. The university offers a comprehensive selection of undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate degree programs. The institution has earned a reputation for placing a significant emphasis on research. It is home to a number of research centers and institutions that focus on a wide range of topics, including biomedical research, robotics, geodesy, quantum optics, and gravitational physics, among others. Additionally, the university is a member of a large number of joint research centers and maintains a number of connections with other educational establishments located all over the world.
