Georgia Institute of Technology

Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) has a main campus in Atlanta, Georgia. It spans 400 acres in the heart of downtown Atlanta. You will find state-of-the-art research facilities, modern academic buildings, and a mix of historic and contemporary architecture.

The Atlanta campus has four main areas: East Campus, West Campus, Central Campus, and Tech Square. East Campus holds most of the first-year residence halls, the Student Center, and recreational facilities. West Campus is home to the university's athletic complex, including upper-class student residences and dining options. It also includes Bobby Dodd Stadium, the oldest on-campus stadium in NCAA Division I football.

Central Campus is an academic hub. Its major buildings include the Clough Undergraduate Learning Commons (CULC), the College of Engineering, and the College of Computing.

Tech Square, just outside the campus, is a hub for entrepreneurship and innovation. It houses startup incubators, corporate innovation centers, and Georgia Tech's Scheller College of Business. 

The university also runs the Georgia Tech-Lorraine campus in Metz, France. It was established in 1990 as an advanced research and education center in engineering and technology.

Georgia Tech also has research facilities and partnerships across the United States. These include the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI), which has satellite offices in multiple states, and the Savannah campus, which focuses on professional education and research in coastal sustainability and logistics.

The university has more than 500 student organizations, including professional societies, cultural groups, performing arts organizations, and service-oriented clubs.

The Student Government Association (SGA) plays an important role, advocating for student interests and organizing major campus events.

The Campus Recreation Center (CRC) is one of the best student recreation centers in the country. It offers facilities such as an Olympic swimming pool, rock climbing walls, and sports courts.

Georgia Tech is also well known for its rich traditions and exciting athletics, particularly in NCAA Division I sports as part of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). The university's athletic teams, known as the Yellow Jackets, compete in football, basketball, baseball, and many other sports at iconic venues such as Bobby Dodd Stadium and McCamish Pavilion.

One of the most beloved traditions is the "Ramblin' Wreck": a 1930 Ford Model A that drives the football team onto the field.

Other traditions include the "T-Book," a first-year guide to Georgia Tech traditions. At "Midnight Bud," students gather at the campanile late at night for a social event.

The university also hosts Tech Homecoming, Greek Week, and the annual Pi Mile Road Race, all of which reinforce school spirit and community engagement.
