Campus

Take a closer look at Université Paris-Saclay

Université Paris-Saclay has an extensive campus network located primarily in the Paris-Saclay cluster, approximately 20 km south of Paris. The main campus is situated in Gif-sur-Yvette, Orsay, and Palaiseau, and constitutes a hub for research, innovation, and academic excellence.

Home to various faculties, research institutes, and laboratories — particularly in the fields of science, engineering, and technology — the campus is one of Europe's leading research ecosystems.

The Orsay campus, originally part of the University of Paris-Sud, houses science and engineering faculties as well as cutting-edge research centers such as the Paris-Saclay Neuroscience Institute and the Institute of Physics.

The Palaiseau campus includes the prestigious École Polytechnique, one of France's finest engineering schools, and is an important site for technological and scientific advances.

The Gif-sur-Yvette campus is home to major research organizations such as the CEA (French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission) and CNRS (National Centre for Scientific Research).

Beyond the Paris-Saclay area, the university has campuses and affiliated institutions in Versailles, Évry, and Sceaux, each active in various disciplines.

The Versailles campus is known for its focus on law, political science, and the humanities, while Évry hosts programs in genomics, biotechnology, and applied sciences, with strong ties to Genopole, France's leading biotechnology research cluster.

The Sceaux campus, located closer to the center of Paris, concentrates on economics, management, and business.

Campus Life

The university has more than 200 student organizations covering areas of interest such as science, entrepreneurship, arts, culture, and sustainability.

Many of these organizations are connected to the university's prestigious engineering and research schools, fostering a strong culture of innovation.

The Bureau des Étudiants (BDE), or student union, plays a central role in organizing social events, networking opportunities, and student-led initiatives.

There are also international student associations, such as the Erasmus Student Network (ESN Paris-Saclay), which help exchange and international students integrate into campus life.

The university also hosts numerous hackathons, science competitions, and entrepreneurship challenges that encourage students to collaborate on innovative projects.

Sports and traditions are an important part of the Université Paris-Saclay experience; comprehensive facilities and student-run athletics clubs serve a wide variety of activities.

The annual Paris-Saclay Sports Championship brings together students from different faculties and schools for friendly competitions. Among the most anticipated events is the Gala de Paris-Saclay, a formal ball where students celebrate their achievements in a grand setting.

Another cherished tradition is Integration Week, which welcomes new students with orientation events, networking activities, and themed parties. The Orsay campus, with its green spaces and proximity to the Chevreuse Valley, is also popular for outdoor activities such as hiking and cycling.
