The Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) is the largest engineering university in Spain. Also known as BarcelonaTech, it is one of the technical universities in Europe with the highest number of international doctoral students. UPC is a public research and higher education institution in the fields of engineering, architecture, science, and technology. As one of Europe's leading schools, UPC is a member of the European network of Best Industrial Managers.

Each year, more than 6,000 undergraduate and graduate students, along with more than 231 doctoral students, graduate from the university. The institution boasts a high graduate employment rate, with 93% of its alumni employed. According to US News & World Report, the school ranks 36th in the world in Computer Science.

Students who wish to pursue an undergraduate degree at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya must meet the following criteria:

• High school diploma / IB diploma
• High GPA
• Transcript documents
• Language proficiency documents
• The university may require a qualifying exam depending on the program.

Students who wish to pursue a graduate degree at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya must meet the following criteria:

• An official university qualification issued by a university in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) that entitles the holder to admission to a master's degree program.
• A qualification issued by a university in a country outside the EHEA. If the qualification has not been recognized, UPC will verify that the educational programs correspond to an educational level equivalent to an official Spanish university degree and that the qualification obtained would provide access to a master's degree in the country where it was awarded.

• The master's program is also open to UPC undergraduate students who have not yet received their bachelor's degree because they have not completed their undergraduate thesis and a maximum of 9 ECTS credits, or have not yet obtained interdisciplinary competency.
