Hult International Business School overview
Hult International Business School grew out of two institutions. The Arthur D. Little School of Management was founded in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in 1964, and Ashridge Management College was founded on the Ashridge estate in England in 1959. The school's official founding date is recognized as 1964. Arthur Dehon Little established the Arthur D. Little School of Management that year in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It originally opened as an executive education program to train business leaders.
It began awarding degrees to its students after earning accreditation from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges in 1976. Ashridge Management College, meanwhile, was founded in 1959 to offer general management courses to business leaders. Major companies such as Guinness, Shell, and Unilever spearheaded its founding, and within a decade it offered its students more than 100 programs. In 2002, Swedish billionaire Bertil Hult acquired the Arthur D. Little School of Management.
The institution was restructured under the name Hult International Business School, with a new curriculum developed for the programs it would offer. In 2007, Bertil Hult also acquired Huron University in London, and that university's London campus became the London campus of Hult International Business School. In 2014, Hult International Business School acquired and merged with Ashridge Business School, creating one of the largest business schools in the world. In 2015, it began operating as a single, unified entity encompassing all of its institutions.
Hult International Business School is recognized as one of the world's leading business schools. It is accredited by respected organizations such as AACSB, AMBA, and EQUIS. Today it operates campuses in Cambridge, San Francisco, New York, London, Ashridge, Dubai, and Shanghai.
