Application Steps
- University Admission + HZBA Turkish high school diploma does not grant direct admission; HZB (Hochschulzugangsberechtigung) equivalence is assessed through uni-assist, and in most cases Studienkolleg + Feststellungsprüfung is required.
- Sperrkonto (Blocked Account)A sperrkonto of €11,904 per year is opened (€992 monthly student allowance). Deutsche Bank, Expatrio and Fintiba provide this account.
- Health InsuranceStatutory/private health insurance is mandatory; the student rate is €120-150 per month (TK, AOK, Mawista, Care Concept).
- Visa ApplicationThe student visa is applied for through the Consulate in Istanbul/Ankara/Izmir (national visa, category D). Fee: €75. Documents: acceptance letter + sperrkonto + insurance + APS + German/English proficiency.
- Aufenthaltstitel (Residence Permit)Within 90 days of arriving in Germany, a residence permit is obtained from the Ausländerbehörde (€110 per year); it is renewed every year.
