Stockholm University is located in Frescati, a natural setting within the Royal National City Park just north of central Stockholm. The Frescati campus serves as the main hub for teaching and research, housing most of the faculties, conference halls, libraries, and administrative buildings.

Known for its modernist architecture and green surroundings, the campus was designed by Swedish architect David Helldén and consists of both contemporary and historic buildings.

Notable facilities include the Arrhenius Laboratories, focused on the natural sciences, and Södra huset, a large academic building that is home to the social sciences and humanities.

Stockholm University Library, one of the largest academic libraries in Sweden, provides extensive research resources, study spaces, and digital tools.

The Albano campus, currently under expansion, is a sustainability-focused research and education hub that will integrate additional student housing and interdisciplinary collaboration spaces.

Additionally, the Asa Research Station in Småland and the Tarfala Research Station in the Arctic serve as important field research centers for climate science, glaciology, and environmental studies.

Campus Life

The Stockholm University Student Union (SUS) plays a central role in student life by advocating for students' rights, organizing social events, and providing a variety of student services.

The Global Friends program helps international students integrate into campus life through social events and mentorship.

For those interested in debate and politics, the Stockholm University Association for International Relations (UF Stockholm) hosts conferences, debates, and study trips focused on global issues.

Student-run media outlets such as Studentradion Stockholm (Student Radio) and Gaudeamus (student magazine) also offer opportunities in journalism and broadcasting.

The Stockholm University Sports Association (SUSA) is active in a wide range of sports, including soccer, volleyball, basketball, and martial arts, while the Frescati Sports Center offers gym facilities and fitness classes.
