Ege University, which began its academic life in 1955 with its Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Agriculture, is the first university of the Aegean region and the 4th oldest university in Turkey. The university's founding mission is to contribute to the world of science on a universal scale by producing knowledge of high quality and quantity, and to train scientists who are culturally and academically equipped.
Ege University offers its students educational opportunities through 17 faculties and 9 institutes at the Bornova Campus, which houses both undergraduate and graduate departments. Ege University students can benefit from exchange programs such as Erasmus, FARABI, Mevlana, and Double Diploma.
