University of Warsaw

The University of Warsaw operates across 126 buildings within the capital Warsaw, while an extensive renovation program is underway at the university's main campus. Rather than being a campus university in the traditional sense, the University of Warsaw — much like its contemporaries — is a city university spread throughout the entire capital, though the majority of its buildings are concentrated in a few districts.

The campus considered the main campus is located in central Warsaw and includes, among other structures, the Pałac Kazimierzowski housing the Rector's Office and the university senate, the Pałac Uruskich housing the Geography and Theology departments, the Old Library, the Szkoła Główna housing the Institute of Archaeology, and the Auditorium Maximum, the university's main lecture hall.

The natural sciences campus, where university buildings are concentrated, is located on Banacha and Pasteura streets in Warsaw and houses departments such as chemistry, physics, biology, mathematics, computer science, and geology. The Ochota Campus, where interdisciplinary research is conducted — particularly important in fields such as medicine, environmental protection, and industry — and the Służewiec Campus, located in the south of the city and home to the Faculty of Management and the Faculty of Applied Linguistics, are the other areas where university buildings are clustered.

Located in the capital Warsaw, the university is deeply intertwined with the social and cultural offerings of the city and its urban life. Cinemas and theaters, art galleries, cafes and restaurants, museums, shops, most shopping centers, and of course the famous Vistula River are all within walking distance of the campuses. The university's library buildings provide students with ample study space, while sports facilities give students the opportunity to participate in various athletic activities and sports programs.

The University of Warsaw operates across 3 campuses: the main campus in the city center, which houses the humanities and social sciences faculties; the Ochota Campus, equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories and focused on natural sciences education; and the Służewiec Campus, which is home to the business faculty as well as student dormitories. The university also offers a variety of extracurricular activities organized by student groups and the institution itself, including lectures, workshops, concerts, and film screenings.
