Universidad de Chile is a research-focused public university established on November 19, 1842, in Santiago, the capital of Chile. As the successor to the former Real Universidad de San Felipe, founded in 1738, and the oldest university in the country, Universidad de Chile has produced Nobel Prize-winning writers such as Pablo Neruda and Gabriela Mistral, and is widely regarded as one of the finest universities not only in Chile but across all of Latin America, thanks to its leadership in science, technology, the social sciences, and the humanities.

Operating across 5 separate campuses that house research centers, health centers, museums, theater halls, observatories, and sports complexes, Universidad de Chile provides higher education opportunities to more than 43,000 students through 14 faculties and 4 interdisciplinary institutes.

International students wishing to apply to undergraduate programs offered by Universidad de Chile must meet the following admission requirements.

• Completion of 12 Years of Basic Education
• 4-Year High School Diploma
  • A Turkish High School Diploma must be evaluated and officially recognized by the relevant authorities in Chile.
• Strong GPA
  or
• Acceptance into a university in Turkey that offers a 4-year bachelor’s degree and completion of the first year of the undergraduate program
  or
• International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma
  or
• GCE A-Level / International A-Level Diploma
• English Proficiency Certificate for programs taught in English
  • An English proficiency certificate obtained through recognized exams such as IELTS or TOEFL iBT
• Spanish Proficiency Certificate for programs taught in Spanish
  • A Spanish proficiency certificate obtained through recognized exams such as DELE, SIELE, or LTI

In addition to the above, international students may be required to sit for the university’s own entrance examinations.

For medicine, dentistry, and veterinary medicine, international students may be required to take additional exams administered by the university.

International students wishing to apply to graduate programs offered by Universidad de Chile must meet the following admission requirements.

• 4-Year Bachelor’s Degree Diploma
• Strong GPA
• English Proficiency Certificate for programs taught in English
  • An English proficiency certificate obtained through recognized exams such as IELTS or TOEFL iBT
• Spanish Proficiency Certificate for programs taught in Spanish
  • A Spanish proficiency certificate obtained through recognized exams such as DELE, SIELE, or LTI
• GRE/GMAT scores may be required based on the specific admission requirements of the program applied to.
